This short trip is for people who would rather be in the water than lying next to it. You stay on Zanzibar's north coast, close to the main dive and snorkel operators, so boat pick-ups are quick.
The main day is a boat trip to Mnemba Atoll off the north-east coast, a reef area that both divers and snorkellers visit for its coral and fish life. On the final morning there is a shorter trip to a reef closer to shore before you fly out. Certified divers dive; everyone else snorkels.
Conditions change with the season, the weather and the tide, so visibility and marine life sightings cannot be promised. The dive operator briefs you on the day. If you want to learn to dive, that is possible locally but takes longer than this itinerary allows.
