This is the simplest trip we sell, and it is deliberately so. You land in Zanzibar, we drive you to a beach resort on the north or east coast, and the next two days are yours. No early starts, no game drives, no fixed activities.
Most people book it as the last part of a Kenya or Tanzania safari, when a few days of doing very little is exactly what is needed before the flight home. It also works as a standalone short break. If you want to fill a day, the resort can arrange a snorkelling trip, a sunset dhow cruise or a Stone Town visit locally.
Which coast you stay on makes a real difference to the experience, so we ask what you care about before suggesting a resort - see the questions below.

BEACH RESORT
Private airport transfers on arrival and departure
Two nights by the beach with no fixed schedule
Resort choice on the north or east coast to suit how you want to spend the time
Optional snorkelling, dhow cruise or Stone Town visit, booked locally
You are met at the airport and driven to your resort. Nothing else is planned today - check in, have a swim, walk the beach in the late afternoon.
The whole day is open. Many guests do nothing more than swim and read. If you want to get out on the water, the resort can book a snorkelling trip to a nearby reef or a sunset dhow cruise, both depending on weather and tide.
A last morning on the beach, then check-out and a private transfer to the airport timed to your flight.
Planning tip: see our guide on How to Combine a Safari With Zanzibar: Flights, Timing and Nights.
Accommodation: Two nights at a mid-range beach resort on a bed-and-breakfast basis, upgradeable to luxury.
Vehicle: Private airport transfers
The driest months, roughly June to October and December to February, have the calmest seas and best visibility for snorkelling. The long rains, roughly March to May, bring showers and choppier water but quieter beaches and lower prices.

Yes - that is what most people use it for. We time the flight and transfer so it links directly with the last day of your safari.
The north, around Nungwi and Kendwa, has a smaller tidal range so you can swim for more of the day, plus more restaurants. The east coast is quieter and more spread out, but at low tide the sea can retreat a long way. We will suggest a resort based on what matters more to you.
Breakfast is included. Lunch and dinner are paid at the resort unless you upgrade to half or full board.
Send us your travel dates and group size and we'll confirm availability and pricing.
