Amboseli is one of the easiest Kenyan parks to reach from Nairobi, and three days gives you time to watch its elephant herds at different times of day. On this group departure you share the vehicle and guide with other travellers, which keeps the price down.
You arrive for an afternoon drive, spend the next day around the swamps and the open lake bed, and fit in one more early drive - the best time to see Kilimanjaro - before returning to Nairobi.

Morning pick-up in Nairobi and the drive south towards the Tanzanian border. Lunch at camp, then an afternoon game drive around the swamps.
Game drives across the park, with a stop at Observation Hill. Elephants usually gather in the swamps through the day, and buffalo, hippo, zebra and many waterbirds are common.
An early drive while Kilimanjaro is most likely to be clear, breakfast, then the drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon.
Planning tip: see our guide on Best Time to Visit Kenya for a Safari, Season by Season.
Accommodation: Budget tented camps and simple lodges near each park, twin-share, full board. Single rooms can be arranged at extra cost, and you can upgrade to mid-range camps while still joining the shared vehicle.
Vehicle: Shared 4x4 safari vehicle with pop-up roof
The dry seasons - roughly June to October and January to February - bring the most wildlife to the swamps and the easiest game viewing. The wet months make the park green and are good for birds, with fewer visitors. Kilimanjaro is most often visible early in the morning in any season.
